No plan for pension indexing - Glocer

Postby michael dunn on Fri Jan 11, 2008 6:06 pm

I no longer recognise the company that employed me for 30 years. Today's announcement leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

We based the current situation on trust. We trusted the company and I hope we can still trust the company.

No Plan for Pension Indexing - Glocer

Postby carolemd81503@hotmail.com on Tue Jan 15, 2008 5:05 pm

For small pensions this decision is even harder to take in, every year that an inflation increase is not awarded the "small pensioner" falls back by an alarming amount. It is mean of Tom Glocer, the Reuters Board of Directors and the Pension Trustees, not to look after its pensioners by giving them an inflation proof increase each year, they should be ashamed of themselves and the rules should be changed. After all, even the government gives a yearly inflation increase in the state pension!

I wonder what Thomsons think about our pensions not being index linked?

Glocer has no interests in Reuter pensioners or for that matter anything to do with Reuters ...apart from the brand name to sell the news services!
This has become more evident with the firms decision to 'de-list' from the LSE.

If Gl;ocer had his way he will either close the RPF or sell it off as an entity as it performs no purpose for the firm ......
It is a reminder of the 'real' Reuters that has now gone and he resents its members ....

Thus I doubt if you will see any further contributions for Glocer and his management to the RPF .... we are on own now !
We should secure our own interests as he doesn't have any wish to be associated with us !
